I used the double pinch method in constructing my second piece. I began the process by creating two bowls using the pinch method. While shaping the form of my pieces I am trying to decide which one is going to be the top with the mouth, and which one will be the bottom with the foot. After deciding, I shaped the foot of the top bowl, made it a little narrow and pulled it vertically. For the bottom bowl, I made the foot a little bit wide to support the weight of the bowls when I join them together.
Next is to join the two pieces (bowls) together and close it, but in order for me to do this correctly and make them stick good I had to score the lips of the bowls using a comb. I decorated my piece by carving and before my piece becomes bone dry, I started to create an opening for the mouth using a trimming too.
